Yu Tat Ming

Chief Executive Officer

PacificLight

Yu Tat Ming was appointed Chief Executive Officer of PacificLight in September 2009 and is responsible for the company’s overall strategy and direction.

Before joining PacificLight, Mr Yu served as Vice President of Asset Management at Senoko Power Ltd, where he led capital project development, operations, and maintenance of the Senoko Power Station. During his 20 years tenure, he oversaw the construction of five generating units and a major repowering project. He also worked for CLP Holdings Limited, where he led a study to convert a coal-fired station into a gas-fired combined cycle plant.

Under Mr Yu’s leadership, PacificLight has achieved significant milestones in efficiency and sustainability, boosting total capacity to 830 MW and reducing carbon emissions by 80,000 tonnes annually. He also oversaw the commissioning of a 100 MW hydrogen-ready fast-start facility and is driving the Pacific Medco Solar Energy import project, as well as the development of a 670 MW hydrogen-ready plant and Singapore’s first 13.2 MW waste-wood-to-energy facility.


Mr Yu holds a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a Master’s in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
