About the Event
SP hosted more than 200 global energy leaders for the biennial Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) CEO Conference, in conjunction with Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). AESIEAP is the region’s largest non-governmental organisation in the power industry. This is the first of SP’s two-year tenure leading the association.
President of AESIEAP and SP’s Group CEO Stanley Huang opened the conference by reiterating the shared goal of AESIEAP members – to shape a reliable, sustainable and secure energy future. Officiating at the conference, Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry spoke about the critical role that power grids play in empowering the energy transition, including the importance of cross-border collaborations, particularly in realising the ASEAN Power Grid vision.
Delegates engaged in insightful discussions on how regional cooperation can enhance grid interconnectivity, finance clean energy projects and overcome technical challenges.
The stellar lineup of local and international speakers in the energy ecosystem included representatives from the utilities companies, financial institutions, original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and consultants.
